100 Days of Gratitude – Day 84

On Day 84 I’m celebrating my Grandad turning 94… I have had a most interesting day, and visited my grandparents tonight, who have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary earlier this week, and Grandad’s birthday yesterday. (They were featured in Day 3)

MumThe most fascinating part of the day was the whole day tour of Fletchers International Exports, which is a featured business in my new book.  It’s an incredible business, a significant business in the sheep industry, not only in Australia, but also globally. I’m grateful for the opportunity to see the inner workings, and to meet some of the staff and hear their great attitude toward excellence, quality and customer service.

Mum came with me for the day, which was fun – and she found it quite interesting too, as she’s in the sheep industry with Dad of course. I took this picture of her with protective glasses and earplugs as we were going through the wool tops plant, after we’d shed the plastic coats and hairnets that were essential for the meat processing area.

Roger Fletcher shared a lot of insights, not only about the industry, but for any kind of business.  He’s very visionary and incredibly knowledgeable, and his attitude of “don’t look back, look forward” makes absolute sense and is just one of the reasons that I’m delighted to be sharing his thoughts in my book.

Have a wonderful weekend my friends, and Look Forward,

Love Kerrie

100 Days of Gratitude – Day 31

Roger Fletcher & Kerrie PhippsI’m so grateful, and I know many of my readers will be grateful too, that Mr Roger Fletcher has agreed to be in my book, “Lifting the Lid on Quiet Achievers – Success Stories of Regional Entrepreneurs”.

He is an incredibly busy man, but very generous and willing to answer people’s questions. His business, Fletcher International Exports is a major employer here in Dubbo and in Albany, Western Australia, and one of Australia’s largest exporters.

His story is inspiring and I’m looking forward to asking him heaps of questions when I see him on Friday – I know his responses will be insighful to say the least!  When I’ve told people about this book, many have asked me hopefully “Will Roger Fletcher be in the book?”

Thank you Mr Fletcher for making a difference in so many ways, and for being willing to share your thoughts with us.

Cheering you on,

Love Kerrie

PS.  This photo of Mr Fletcher and I was taken at Gilgandra Show in May 2009
