Inspiring Coaching Conversations today…

Gosh I’m inspired. I’ve had several very profound conversations today that have really put a bounce in my step and I feel like I’m breathing with bigger lungs, if that makes sense. This is really great, because I’ve had a virus that’s really knocked my energy out of me for far too long, and it’s the love of life that gets me out of bed, not physical energy…

So – the bounce back conversations…

Firstly, one of my clients had a few very nice insights that will change her outcomes significantly; one being the realisation that doing the hard things first really works for her and she just needs to refocus on that, which eliminates procrastination, cutting out stress, unproductive pressure and an incomplete work day/week. Another was the insight that while she’s been focused on how someone else in her world wasn’t taking responsibility, she’s missed seeing the ways that she can take responsibility, for her actions and attitudes. Beautiful.

Another lady who came for her 3rd session is already so transformed she’s beside herself with excitement. It’s such a stunning shift I am SO moved. She’s realised that she was losing hours (literally half a day) everyday just looking for things, as she was living in such clutter, and her external world was merely a reflection of her internal world. Complete chaos. In the past 10 days since session 2, she hasn’t wasted ANY time looking for glasses, keys, wallet or paperwork, because her thinking is now clear. I love this!

The changes here have occurred not just because these women are on a coaching journey with me, but because they came to me really ready for change, and with willingness to be completely honest, not just with me, but with themselves. It actually takes courage, as it’s not easy to truly assess the current situation and it’s impacts when it’s not nice – but on the other side of those insights are the gems that unfold into enormous creativity and freedom to pursue your dreams – and be your true, fabulous self.  As my dear friend Dr Ray Andrews says “You can’t leave where you’re at, until you OWN where you’re at.” Oh so true.

Where are you at my friend? What’s great, what’s not, and what are you ready to leave behind. It’s one thing to have an inspiring goal, but you often have to look at what you’ve been dragging around with you that you can let go of. This woman who’s leaving the chaos behind is actually leaving behind her excuses and negativity. It’s all too easy to say “this is just how I am/have always been…” but when you’re really ready for change, you’ll amaze yourself. If you don’t believe me, call me and let’s talk about what’s possible. (secret… what’s possible is actually ANYTHING… which is another insight, and another whole conversation – at least!)

Cheering you on,

Kerrie

PS. Another exciting conversation happened serendipitously as I saw one of my first coaching clients in a cafe downtown, so we lunched and I heard about his project in Africa that he’s developing. Very exciting stuff – and if you know me well, you know Africa has captured my heart and I’m increasing my support of many difference-makers there in the coming days to give orphans, abducted child-soldiers and oppressed women a chance to transform their lives and communities.

100 Days of Gratitude – Day 100!!!

I’m grateful for the journey of this past 100 Days, and grateful for those who have shared the journey.  I’m grateful to Glenda for our conversation in Orange which kicked off this discipline, which has been good for me, and has impacted others.  I’m grateful that I can develop in my skills (adding photos and links to blogs) and in my discipline of committing to this every single day for 100 Days. Making a difference to others has been a bonus I didn’t fully anticipate.  I’ve had many emails from people who have shifted their own focus to being more positive, and they’ve shared the idea with others who have taken it further.  I have seen a ripple effect which is beautiful, and a privilege.

Rather than list of 100 things, which might be a great way to complete, I’ll list 10 people who’ve been a great encouragement to me as I’ve blogged a thought or 2 each day.

1. Darren Ramsey

2. Sue OwenPowells visit

3. Lyndon Phipps

4. Teonie Hoyes

5. Shelley Taylor-Smith

6. Charyn Youngson

7. Sherry Davies-Selak

8. Annette Ferguson

9. Courtney Powell

10. Allan Sentance

And how did I celebrate my Day 100?  Friends came for afternoon tea, which led into a lovely dinner and conversations until after 10pm, as they do with fabulous people.  Allan and Carolyn Powell came over with their youngest 5 (of 10 gorgeous kids) and we celebrated the blog, the book, (which is being typeset for printing) and the book I’m now writing for.

People have been asking me what’s next after these 100 Days, and the answer is that I have a couple of things in mind – as usual! For a few weeks at least, I will return to a less frequent blogging habit – but more frequent than prior to this 100 Days commitment.  As always, I hope to bring inspired, and inspiring thoughts and encouragement.

Please share your thoughts in the comments below, I appreciate the feedback, and learn from it.

Cheering you on,

Love Kerrie

100 Days of Gratitude – Day 97

Fast Ed with Lyndon, Kez & EthanGosh it’s great to get out and do something different!  I’m grateful for a different kind of day today, firstly I spent hours at the hairdressers, which gave me plenty of time to think about the next book I’m writing for – yep, another one!  The second thing I spent a few hours on was a social night out at Bunnings, with many activities, including cooking demonstrations from Fast Ed, (Ed Halmagyi) Celebrity Chef seen on Better Homes and Gardens.  The girls from Mary Kay Cosmetics were there pampering our hands, we painted pots and the staff painted childrens faces.  They even had gluten-free chocolate cake with the coffee, so I was especially grateful for that!

A proof of my book cover arrived from the publishers today, in need of a few tweaks, but I’m grateful to see it coming along.

Off to write about “How to design and create….” for my friends book… Stay tuned!

Love Kerrie

PS.  Although it may look like I’m a full time author at the moment, I’m still coaching a few motivated clients, something else I’m grateful for! Writing is good, but coaching inspiring individuals to move forward powerfully is amazing and a great privilege.

100 Days of Gratitude – Day 96

My Gratitude today is for a number of things – (why did I think I could do ONE per day) – firstly the great call I just ran for Create the Life Club members.  We discussed effective thinking and creating supportive habits, which was an inspiring and useful conversation. I love setting up a safe space for people to think and share.

I’m also grateful for a friends invitation to write for her book – so I’m off to do that. More on that one another day!

I’m going to Gilgandra on the weekend for the Coo-ee Festival, which is where my 100 Days of Gratitude will be completed.  I do have another couple of themes for 100 Days, which will be just as positive and perhaps even more fun to explore, but I intend to leave some time in between for reflection, and possibly some other general blogs such as those previous to the past 96 days.

Have a great week,

Love Kerrie

100 Days of Gratitude – Day 94

Today I’m happy to say that I’m grateful to have sent my completed book to the publisher.  I took the printed book down to Stephen’s Patisserie to read it and enjoy a great coffee and a different environment. Of course I found a few typo’s that have slipped past many proofreaders eyes, so I came back to the office, fixed them, and gave Lyndon the honour of sending the file.  Then we went to celebrate with a little shopping – deciding on seafood to create a fabulous, and quick stir-fry for dinner.  (And chocolate of course) Ethan was so excited and suggested we skip through the shopping centre.  I love that kids don’t care who sees them skipping, so I held his hand and joined him. I’m also grateful that Ethan and Lyndon have both been supporting me in writing and completing the book.

Book completeI’m grateful for the people who have shared their stories with me for the book – they are so inspiring and their words move me even as I proofread and skim over when looking at the chapters from a layout perspective.  I can’t wait to share it with people, and I’m looking forward to reading it over the Christmas break when I can just read to enjoy. There are a few other books on my Christmas holidays list too!

There are so many things I can list that I’m grateful for, but even just in relation to this book project there are many.  The comments I’ve had on my facebook wall from friends have been so encouraging and it’s evidence of the little things we do making such a difference.  Someone may have visited my page for a moment, but leaving their thoughts on it has lifted me a little more.  This is especially lovely when you’re very tired!

Thanks to all who do the little things that make a big difference. So easy, and yet so significant.

Love Kerrie

PS. Lyndon took this pic at 1.25am, when it was all printed out.

Inspiring Quotes

I’m taking a big step this week – launching myself out of the comfort zone and becoming an author!  I am creating a journal, which includes a guide to effective writing and support for achieving goals and I’m including some of my favourite inspriring quotes, not only from the very famous, but also from people in my world, who will most likely be famous one day.  Well their words will be in print!

I thought I’d share a few of my favourite quotes now, why wait for the journal to be printed?  Today’s a great day to encourage someone!

1.  Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase. – Martin Luther King Jr.

Okay, so I’m doing that…  and sometimes I trip on the stairs in my excitement or inexperience, but I get up and keep moving, learning from each experience.

2.  I want to know God’s thoughts. The rest are details. – Albert Einstein

Wow… what’s to be said here?  It’s worth pondering every single day…

3.  Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

I think I’m doing okay with this one too… Lyndon was just reminding me last night that I am quite unusual. (I see things so differently to how most people would)  It’s not a bad thing, probably a good thing, but something to be aware of – I can’t guess what people would be thinking!!

4.  Change your thoughts and you change your world. – Norman Vincent Peale

I absolutely, wholeheartedly agree!  I love the question “How could I think about this differently?”  I love that I can be proactive, notice my thinking and change it!  I’m in charge of my brain!  If I leave it on autopilot it might take me down the wrong path!

Well I’ve enjoyed sharing these thoughts, and I’m now getting back to pulling my journal together so it’s out before Christmas.  Hope you’ve enjoyed this too.  If you’d like to send me your favourite quotes, the life-changing ones, please do!  Especially the one’s you’ve made up yourself – gems from your heart and mind.   You never know where they’ll go.

This one comes from a lovely, inspiring client of mine from New Zealand, who went blind as a 30+ mother of two boys. Check out www.thatblindwoman.com to be really inspired.

5.  To lose my sight may have been considered tragic  but to lose my sense of humour would have been catastrophic.  -  Julie Woods – NZ speaker and coach

Julie’s sense of humour is delightful and puts people at ease when they’re around her, unless they’re in stitches from laughing!

I’ll leave you with one that fell out of my mouth last week, and Lyndon wrote it down.

6.  To journal is to be courageous, because one comes face-to-face with oneself.  -  Kerrie Phipps

Have a wonderful day, focus on thoughts that are useful, inspiring and motivating,

Cheering you on,

Kerrie
