Have you checked your assumptions lately?

Have you checked your assumptions lately?

When you’re having a ‘bad hair day’ and don’t want to go out and face the world, pause and take notice of your thinking.

What assumption are you making? It could be something like “I’m not good enough”, “people won’t accept me” or something else that has you down.

If you’re making that assumption, you can just as easily make a better one! That voice of negativity in your head doesn’t speak truth, so combat it something more empowering.

Are you being too hard on yourself? What would you say if you were your dearest friend?

Start with smiling – you look SO much better when you smile. You know how much better you feel when you’re greeted with a smile – what if you went out and gave a few smiles away?

I wrote the above on my way home from the gym, where someone had asked me for a short article for their newsletter… I never know where to start with an article, but by the time I had my car on the road heading home, there it was. I think perhaps because I immediately challenged my assumption that I didn’t have time to write anything!

100 Days of Gratitude – Day 96

My Gratitude today is for a number of things – (why did I think I could do ONE per day) – firstly the great call I just ran for Create the Life Club members.  We discussed effective thinking and creating supportive habits, which was an inspiring and useful conversation. I love setting up a safe space for people to think and share.

I’m also grateful for a friends invitation to write for her book – so I’m off to do that. More on that one another day!

I’m going to Gilgandra on the weekend for the Coo-ee Festival, which is where my 100 Days of Gratitude will be completed.  I do have another couple of themes for 100 Days, which will be just as positive and perhaps even more fun to explore, but I intend to leave some time in between for reflection, and possibly some other general blogs such as those previous to the past 96 days.

Have a great week,

Love Kerrie

100 Days Of Gratitude – Day 71

Kerrie And Rebel

I’m grateful for a day of challenging questions to really have me thinking deeply and strategically about my life and business.  The insights were amazing – and will be easier to articulate when it’s not 11.55pm! Bottom line – my thinking today was all about living on purpose, which I go on about from time to time…  it’s great to spend time reflecting on where this is and isn’t a reality.

I’m also grateful that we completed the day with dinner out with all the inspiring people we’d been with all day, thanks to Joanna Martin.  So while I don’t have a photo of the strategic and heartfelt thinking – here’s a pic from lunch, which was just as fun, but more rushed than our fabulous dinner.

Thanks Joey!

Cheering you on,
Love Kerrie

100 Days of Gratitude – Day 68

Another day of moving forward with the book and meeting fabulous people!  Charyn and I spent the morning on our books and then went into the city (Adelaide) to meet a friend for a late lunch.  The most special moment in our lunch together was when Michael spoke about his 2 and a half year old daughter and had tears in his eyes as he expressed his gratitude for her and how she has the most gentle, considerate and loving nature.  That was a moment today I’m grateful for.

Charyn, Kez, Sonia, NatalieI’m also grateful for the opportunity to spend the evening with some wonderful coaching colleagues, at the ICF Dinner, which followed the last day of conference.  So I have collected quite a few great photos today, and already posted some on facebook.  Again, I am grateful for the people in my world, our conversations about our learning, and sense of possibilities.

Cheering you on,

Kerrie

100 Days of Gratitude – Day 65

AdelaideSo grateful for a quiet day, a reflective day… it was quite cool, (and at times freezing, windy and raining) so I spent most of it indoors soaking up the sun through the glass.  This pic I took from the hallway, a similar view to the one from my room. The river and all the trees and parkland is so beautiful, and the streets full of beautiful old buildings and a few funky new ones. My hotel room at the Hyatt is beautiful and spacious, with all the gear, fluffy bathrobes and all, and I’ve just totally enjoyed the time to write, reflect and take short walks.

I’m really looking forward to speaking at the Adelaide Convention Centre tomorrow, it’s next door, and looks like a wonderful centre.

My 9 year old Ethan called me after dinner to tell me that he’s broken his wrist (his writing hand) – he was at the hospital waiting patiently to see the orthopedic specialist and sounded quite proud of his flight through the air to land 3 metres from his friends large trampoline. I’m grateful that he’s dealing with it well, and hope he’s sleeping well tonight.

Here’s to a great week,

Love Kerrie

100 Days of Gratitude – Day 50!!!

Jumping out of the comfort zone!  I’m grateful for a day with family today – as it was Dad’s birthday yesterday we came out to the farm for lunch.  I took a few photos of everyone out on the lawn, with this blog in mind, but as the day progressed I found even more to be grateful for.  When someone mentioned that Ethans ball was on the roof I decided to take him up there to get it.  I grew up climbing on roofs, silo’s and machinery (to my mothers horror) from the age of two, and have noticed the lack of opportunity for Ethan, living in town.  As we climbed onto the roof from the tankstand, Ethan commented that he’s not as “gymnastically talented” as me and “how old were you when you started doing this risky business?”  Ethan & Kez on Roof

Oh dear, he really needs to get out more…  So we went tree climbing too – which is always an opportunity for thinking creatively and stretching oneself – physically if not mentally!  I’m grateful for my upbringing, grateful for my family, and grateful for a fun afternoon climbing with my son!

Cheering you on,

Kerrie
