On Day 84 I’m celebrating my Grandad turning 94… I have had a most interesting day, and visited my grandparents tonight, who have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary earlier this week, and Grandad’s birthday yesterday. (They were featured in Day 3)
The most fascinating part of the day was the whole day tour of Fletchers International Exports, which is a featured business in my new book. It’s an incredible business, a significant business in the sheep industry, not only in Australia, but also globally. I’m grateful for the opportunity to see the inner workings, and to meet some of the staff and hear their great attitude toward excellence, quality and customer service.
Mum came with me for the day, which was fun – and she found it quite interesting too, as she’s in the sheep industry with Dad of course. I took this picture of her with protective glasses and earplugs as we were going through the wool tops plant, after we’d shed the plastic coats and hairnets that were essential for the meat processing area.
Roger Fletcher shared a lot of insights, not only about the industry, but for any kind of business. He’s very visionary and incredibly knowledgeable, and his attitude of “don’t look back, look forward” makes absolute sense and is just one of the reasons that I’m delighted to be sharing his thoughts in my book.
Have a wonderful weekend my friends, and Look Forward,
Love Kerrie
