Jumping out of the comfort zone! I’m grateful for a day with family today – as it was Dad’s birthday yesterday we came out to the farm for lunch. I took a few photos of everyone out on the lawn, with this blog in mind, but as the day progressed I found even more to be grateful for. When someone mentioned that Ethans ball was on the roof I decided to take him up there to get it. I grew up climbing on roofs, silo’s and machinery (to my mothers horror) from the age of two, and have noticed the lack of opportunity for Ethan, living in town. As we climbed onto the roof from the tankstand, Ethan commented that he’s not as “gymnastically talented” as me and “how old were you when you started doing this risky business?”
Oh dear, he really needs to get out more… So we went tree climbing too – which is always an opportunity for thinking creatively and stretching oneself – physically if not mentally! I’m grateful for my upbringing, grateful for my family, and grateful for a fun afternoon climbing with my son!
Cheering you on,
Kerrie
