Recently I attended “Women, Wine and Wealth” – a fabulous girls day out, with workshops on Celebrating Your Personal Wealth and Building Financial Wealth… in the afternoon I shared a snapshot of my life story, the good, bad & the ugly, from an angle of Celebrating… all three! The good – we have much to learn from and be grateful for, the bad and the ugly – to celebrate the overcoming, the resilience and understanding that comes from such times. We looked at artworks from the “Waste to Art” Exhibition and I asked the women to consider what Waste they’ve turned to Art in their life, or what trash has been or can be turned to treasure in their lives. An email I received shortly after the event read – “…your statements really rang true. For me I thought about how sometimes I only see the things my husband gets wrong, as from today I’m going to celebrate, acknowledge and treasure the things he does well. What an amazing insight! That’s another whole conversation, but what if we do celebrate our own journey as well as that of others? What are the potential effects of that? Some people are great at acknowledging others, but not themselves, some see their own qualities, and not others, but what if we create a nice blend and see the best in everyone?! What we focus on we create more of, remember?! Have an excellent day, believing in yourself and those around you.
