When did you last feel like dancing? Skipping? Expressing JOY somehow?
Does your work cause your clients to feel like dancing?
Peter Walsh, known as Oprah’s Organiser, and host of Extreme Clutter delivered an inspiring keynote at the recent Australasian Association of Professional Organisers Conference. Peter spoke of the impact of decluttering a space and said that over 15 years he’s seen the same thing “when the children come back in to the space they dance – every single time” and the adults, when they come back into the space “their souls dance – and you see it in their faces”.
Does your work cause souls to dance? Does it cause you to dance?
My soul was dancing as MC and keynote speaker at the Conference, and since. It was SO fun to be amongst over 100 passionate Difference-Makers and I was completely in my element. When a conference is organised so beautifully one can simply turn up and go with the flow! Photos below…
It was such fun to interview sponsors, connect participants and put the spotlight on passion, determination and making a difference. I also interviewed Peter with questions prepared by the attendees. Inspiring stuff.
Whether your work is book keeping, organising offices or fixing a tractor, if your work is about solving problems it has a greater impact than you often realise. Perhaps you actually put a skip in teachers steps, a grin on farmers faces, help shoulders relax and minds clear… that’s the kind of job description that not only causes souls to dance but enquiries to increase! I’d love to hear from you about how you describe what you really do… join the conversation in the Do Talk To Strangers group – tell us how you connect with others!
I help Difference-Makers connect with confidence – I can’t think of anything I’d rather do. Helping people make the difference they’re born for. In conferences and meetings and unexpected moments of connection in everyday life.
Focusing on the joy, on the bigger picture is about encouraging yourself. Remember what your work is really all about. It’s the difference you make in makes in people’s lives.
Cheering you on,
Kerrie
PS. And you know you can make a soul dance by being kind to strangers :)
