2016 is the Year of Connecting Globally. You can go anywhere, learn anything, and connect with anyone. The world is shifting rapidly and now more than ever, we can virtually step into a makeshift tent in Nepal, an Israeli military training camp, behind the TV cameras of international TV broadcasters and their make-up rooms… (I’ve done all of the above recently)
Periscope shows you who’s online (or was recently) all over the world
What’s even more amazing, is that you no longer have to simply watch, unable to respond (other than rant or cheer at the TV) but you can connect personally, interact, ask questions, and get airtime yourself. Tell your own story – broadcast yourself from wherever you are if you want to. I’ve been on Periscope for 5 months now (recorded on Katch.me) and have made some extraordinary connections online and offline since.
You can connect with people from all over the world, inviting them to your office, your favourite holiday spot or shopping centre or conference. Live Stream broadcasting is available for everyone with a smartphone now.
This takes “DO Talk To Strangers” to a whole new level. I’ve been broadcasting and interacting with people from countries ALL OVER the world. One platform that I’m just beginning to play with is Blab.im so I decided to go online on the weekend without prior notice and make myself available to talk to strangers and see who turned up.
