Be OK with Awkward
I’m so delighted to share this conversation with Henna Pryor, author of GOOD AWKWARD – as you can imagine, her book title grabbed my attention! If you’ve been around a while, you may have heard me speaking about being #OkWithAwkward. Of course I wanted to know more from Henna. What a fantastic area of expertise.
Good Awkward
We delved into a discussion about embracing awkwardness and the power of curiosity in connecting with others. Henna shared her journey as a first-generation immigrant in the US, and her early years adapting to a whole new world. It was raw, honest, and quite relatable. So many of us have found ourselves in new environments trying to fit in, being and doing what’s expected.
It’s powerful to realise that awkwardness isn’t something to run from; it’s actually a pathway to deeper connections and richer experiences. We shared examples of stepping out of our comfort zones, engaging with others authentically, and celebrating the uniqueness of every interaction.
Awkwardness is opportunity for growth
Listening back, I was reminded of the beauty in those moments of uncertainty. They’re opportunities for growth and discovery, if we’re willing to lean into them. So, here’s to embracing the awkward, celebrating curiosity, and connecting with confidence in every conversation. Thanks for listening and continuing on your own brave journey!
Cheering you on,
Kerrie
