Reflecting on our 18th Wedding Anniversary resulted in many insights – and my waking one this morning was that we’re still 50 years off my Grandparents current achievement of 68 years!
I also thought of this video that we filmed a couple of weeks ago and is in the Cheering You On file. When you look back over your history, you can discover incredible insights that help you now and in the future.

You can see what you’ve overcome, how you’ve grown, who’s been there along the way, what you’ve learned, about life, business, yourself and others. Pictured here is our friend Lachlan who was a 17 year old school boy at our wedding, now a married father of 3 and lifelong friend. He brought some photos from our wedding over and I met him a the door in my wedding dress and veil (good for a giggle).

Lyndon and I have been discussing “18 insights from our 18 years” – such as – Getting to know each other has been great – but getting to know ourselves has made a significant difference in knowing each other, and respecting each others gifts, abilities, limitations, quirkiness and insights.
We’ve seen the impact of encouragement first hand – Lyndon has been cheering me on since we became friends almost 20 years ago, and his encouragement and belief in me is the reason I’ve dared to do many things that I wouldn’t have otherwise.
He’s also experienced many things he wouldn’t have without my support and encouragement – but that’s his story to tell :)
Now we’re off to dinner to celebrate and reflect again – just for the fun of doing life together!
